ROUND BRITAIN / ENDURANCE TRAINING

A new course to help with the formidable task of long distance racing. Covering aspects such as boat set up, planning and logistics alongside the regular race curriculum   


POWERBOATS
The course is ideal for both novice and experienced power boaters. Courses are taken over one or two days being split into “theoretical” and “practical” sessions, covering topics such as safety at speed, driving techniques, seamanship and making the most of your craft.

We are able to offer tailor made courses specially designed to suit your personal requirements and your boat such as catamarans or trimarans as well as mono hull craft



RHIB’S

A unique specialised course to enable you to get the most out of these fun and exciting crafts As many ribs are used as family boats it’s of vital importance to understand every aspect of boat handling and safety from towing and trailer management to launching and the berthing of your craft.

We will tailor the course around your boat and boating experience

 

ROUGH WATER HANDLING
This course is to enable you to handle your craft in rough waters making it as safe and effective as possible, covering, wave patterns such as beam, following seas etc, how to handle your boat in rough water and trimming your boat to achieve the safest and most comfortable ride.

 

RACE TRAINING
A specialised course for those who are already racing or wanting to race high performance crafts, Covering tactical driving, crew importance, understanding your race boat and cornering techniques amongst other topics. Allowing you to improve and develop your existing skills to achieve full potential in the competitive environment of powerboat racing. The base course is held over two days with both theoretical and practical work involved. The training is suitable for both driver and co-pilot.

 

PERFORMANCE SET UP
For those who are keen to extract the most from their boats both pleasure and race craft we offer a ‘set up and development programme’. This may include weighing, locating the centre of gravity, prop testing, gear ratio and propeller selection, timings and handling.

 

 

RYA courses

LEVEL 1 Introduction to Power boating

Including: boat handling, safety and rules, ropes and knots
Suitable for beginners



LEVEL 2 National Powerboat Certificate

Including: High-speed handling, navigation, launch and recovery, tides
Suitable for beginners

 

FIRST AID COURSES

Taught by a qualified First Aid instructor, the course covers topics such as hypothermia, drowning and basic first aid skills.
